Margaret Mullane MP was contacted by local residents regarding the condition of the carriageway outside their homes in Briscoe Road, Rainham. The damage to the road surface is causing vibration and disturbance to the homes as vehicles drive over that section of road.
Margaret's Rainham Labour Action Team, Fay Hough and Sue Watson, sprang into action visiting Briscoe Road and meeting with a resident to better understand the issue. Following this Havering Council was contacted with a detailed request on the need for repairs to the road surface.
The Council has now got back to Margaret to say that a repair order has been raised and work should be completed in the next 28days.
Margaret commented: “I am grateful to Havering Council for their quick response and planned action to relieve this problem in Briscoe Road. This is a road that is on the 287 and 165 bus routes and the vibration and disturbance to houses and their occupants beside this stretch of the road as buses and other heavy vehicles pass is substantial.”
