The National Trust's annual celebration of the UK’s spectacular blossom season, in it’s sixth year, takes inspiration from Japan’s Hanami, bringing all generations outdoors, boosting tourism and helping people connect with nature.

A YouGov poll commissioned by the National Trust, found that over two thirds of adults believed noticing nature around them made them feel happier. After the dark days of winter, there can often be a desire to grab these little moments of joy but we know many people struggle to connect to nature near where they live and work.

I encourage constituents to get outside, enjoy and celebrate spring blossom, sharing their images of beautiful blossom across social media as it appears in their region.

Here are 3 ways you can get involved:

  1. Discover and share Blossom as it appears in your region - Here is a handy guide on how to do this

  2. Take part in and promote the Big Blooming Break, 14th - 27th April with your colleagues and constituents - more information below.

  3. Visit our immersive blossom exhibition at Outernet at Tottenham Court Road 1st - 31st April. (National Trust Blossom at Outernet London | National Trust)

New for this year - we are inviting the UK to make the time to unwind with nature – step away from the screen, out of the workplace and into the spring air with The Big Blooming Break, 14th – 27th April.
