London Fire Brigade's #ChargeSafe Campaign

Margaret Mullane MP is working in association with London's Fire Brigade's #ChargeSafe campaign aiming to prevent fires in e-bikes and provide simple safety tips for London commuting.

On average, there was a fire related to e-vehicles such as bikes and scooters every two days in the year 2023. Causing around 60 injuries and three deaths, e-bikes have rose to one of the capital's fastest-growing fire risks. Most of these fires are a result of incompatible chargers, or faulty counterfeit products which are purchased from online marketplaces

On the 18th of October, LFB held an event with Deliveroo to share important safety information regarding e-bikes. We strongly recommend any delivery drivers within our constituency check it out via the link below: http://email.my-communications.com/c/eJwUxj1yhSAQAODTQBdmXRC0oEjjPWCFPPL4cRDD5PaZdN9pJYUVPA92MagWDSsa_rJLXI0ECXHDuCsyznu_ryBPWqQJcefJIqCCDWGRuCkjtN727Vy1goja08kUlN8PaqU8NZEbqdVbUCs829cY183kJ8OD4THnFN6ToCaeN8OjhnkzPFwfiXL4JxmQ73DN71M33m1x_cv1MER5cnY1iHIxBZfrObkS6hDPm_9Y_AsAAP__02tDgQ

Margaret Member of Parliament for Dagenham & Rainham commented "It is terrible the increasing amount of fire-related injuries the people of London are sustaining, considering how pivotal vehicles such as e-bikes are for people ranging from delivery drivers to average commuters. I strongly advise constituents to have a read of the linked article as well as check out the ChargeSafe campaign if they or someone they know could be affected by this issue."
