Environment Agency update: a new online service for reporting environmental incidents

The Environment Agency has introduced a new online service for reporting environmental incidents. Members of the public can now report pollution incidents online by visiting: Report an environmental problem - GOV.UK. 

The service will initially cover odour problems (report a smell), water pollution (report water pollution); illegal fishing will be included soon, and more incident types will be added gradually. Further functionality such as the ability to upload photos and videos will be introduced.  

This online service will make reporting environmental problems more accessible and convenient for everyone. The online option will give people a choice between calling or using the online form, allowing everyone to select the method that’s easiest for them.  

Available 24/7, the online service provides the public with an accessible way to report as well as a free telephone incident hotline (0800 80 70 60).
