Dagenham and Rainham MP, Margaret Mullane, called upon Havering Council to do a clean and tidy up around the Rainham Leisure Centre and also repair some damage to the building.

In response to this the Centre manager and the Council’s Parks team have taken action to clear up the area and have removed the damaged plastic on the bike shed. The Council is also to replace the damaged panels on the Leisure Centre building.

Margaret commented: “The leisure centre in Rainham Village was really welcome. So many local families and schools use the amenity, it’s a shame to see how run down it had become in such a short time.

However, well done to the Centre manager and the Parks team for responding to clear up. I am also pleased that the children’s playground has been added to the weekly maintenance schedule to ensure rubbish is dealt with in a timely manner”.
